The Daily Record have claimed that Premier League duo Crystal Palace and West Ham United have both shown ‘tentative interest’ in signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos this summer.
The 23-year-old striker was constantly in the headlines last season, as he scored a whopping 30 goals in 48 league and cup outings for the Gers. But it was not just his goals that grabbed the attention.
Indeed, his five red cards, including an elbow on Celtic captain Scott Brown during a crucial Old Firm clash, saw him criticised heavily by pundits and even his own fans at times. He has a contract until 2023.
The Colombia international is a wanted man and many are of the belief that he is good enough for the Premier League. But after just 92 matches for Rangers, it remains to be seen if he is capable of scoring at the highest level.

West Ham are about to complete the signing of Sebastian Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt, but need additions up front after losing Lucas Perez, Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll this summer.
TBR’s view – Rangers ace Morelos would be excellent in the PL
On the biggest stage, Morelos would shine. At the London Stadium, as Haller’s replacement, Morelos would finally realise his potential by playing with bigger and better players.
Similarly at Crystal Palace, Morelos would replace the likes of Michy Batshuayi. The only difference between the two sides is that Morelos may be first choice at Palace, but closer to the drop.
At West Ham, Morelos would be second choice – but with a strong chance of getting plenty of game time. At Palace, he would be first choice but lacking in chances and nearer relegation. Big call for Morelos to make.
