Cristiano Ronaldo is apparently trying to get Manchester United to try and sign Italy and Juventus star, Federico Chiesa, ahead of Premier League rivals, Liverpool.
Reports over the summer suggested Liverpool had made a bid for Chiesa, who flew for the Italians at Euro 2020. However, no deal was struck, with Juventus intent on keeping their star talent.

However, Calciomercato now claim that Cristian Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United may pave the way for Chiesa to follow suit. They suggest that Ronaldo is a huge fan of the player. Indeed, it’s suggested he is even hankering for United to make their move.
Record Buy
It’s been suggested that Chiesa could cost anywhere up to the £110m mark if he does leave. That would represent a record outlay for both United and Liverpool.
Chiesa has recently caught the eye of Rio Ferdinand too. The ex-United man and now BT Sport pundit, praising him after a recent Champions League tie.
“He’s just a fantastic footballer. The intensity with which he plays with, we saw in the Euros he was the main goal threat for the Italians who went on to win the tournament. The biggest attribute he’s got is he plays with a humility. He’s hustling and bustling like a young Luis Suarez character, he can make something out of nothing,” Ferdinand commented.
It’s easy to see, then, why the big clubs in England are taking note.
TBR’s View: Ronaldo can try, but Chiesa going nowhere
Surely Juventus won’t sell Chiesa to anyone? He’s just too good.
He’s the player you build your team around for years to come, not the player you sell to make a quick chunk of money. Obviously, money can talk in football, and you do never know.
But Chiesa is a class act. He’s also settled in Juventus. So while Ronaldo, and Liverpool for that matter, might want him, the reality is their efforts are probably going to be in vain.
