Everton defender, Michael Keane, is being lined up for a sensational move to Barcelona with Ronald Koeman, according to a report from OK Dario.
The England man has been in good form for the Toffees under Carlo Ancelotti and finished the season well. Since sealing a big-money move from Burnley, Keane has cemented himself at the heart of the Everton back-line.
However, that impressive form has apparently caught the eye of his former manager, Ronald Koeman, who is apparently keen to take Keane to Barcelona once he officially takes over.
It would be a mega move for Keane, who wouldn’t have seen this one coming at all. But the defender could well be open to the switch, not just because it is Barcelona, but also because of his admiration for Koeman.
Back in 2017, Keane praised the impact the Dutchman had on his game, citing his then-manager as a key reason for seeing an upturn in form. (Sky Sports)
Everton, though, would be looking for a big chunk of change if were to sell. They paid a reported £30m (BBC) for Keane back in the summer of 2017.
Nobody saw this coming and you can’t blame Keane if he wants to go – TBR View
This one has come out of nowhere but if it does have legs, there won’t be anyone out there who can blame Keane for going.
While Everton fans will argue if he’s good enough for Barca, if Koeman likes him, then he could well target someone he knows in Keane.
Barcelona is going into a transition period anyway, so it’s not like Keane would be under the usual pressure. Should Barca stump up the cash for the England man, then it’s hard to see him turning down a move to La Liga.
