Report: Romano deals blow to Spurs as UCL club target £30m-rated talent; Everton are also keen
Reported Tottenham and Everton target Merih Demiral is now on the radar for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the German side are plotting an offer for the centre-back.
As per the Sky Italia journalist, Juventus value the Turkish international at €35m (£30m). Demiral is likely to leave the Serie A club this summer.
As reported by CalcioMercato, Spurs and Everton are both keen on the 23-year-old defender. Yet neither club are yet to make an official move for the former Sassuolo star.
And Dortmund’s interest in the defender could complicate matters for both Spurs and Everton.
The UEFA Champions League side are currently in the money following the departure of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.
Indeed, Tottenham have seemingly already turned their attention to other targets away from Demiral. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have ramped up their interest in Atalanta defender Cristian Romero as reported by Sky Sports News.
However, with Tottenham already signing Pierluigi Gollini from the Bergamo side, Atalanta could be resigned to losing another key player to the north London club. Moreover, a centre-back is Tottenham’s priority this summer.
As for Everton, Demiral would be a stunning coup for the Merseyside club who are keen to make strides up the Premier League table under Rafa Benitez. And the Turkish defender will be a noticeable improvement over the Toffee’s current centre-back options.
