Serie A outfit Roma consider Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette as a dream signing for the summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian outfit will seek a replacement for Edin Dzeko in the summer and Lacazette looks to be their main target.
Arsenal would consider selling the Frenchman for the right price with just over a year left on his current deal (Football London).
The 29-year-old has rediscovered himself this season, scoring 11 goals and registering three assists in Mikel Arteta’s team.
It would seem as though the Gunners will continue reshaping their squad in the summer though and that could be bad news for the talisman.
Lacazette checked in at the Emirates Stadium from Lyon in 2017, costing the club £46.5 million.
He hasn’t proved a bad signing for the club, finding the net on 59 occasions during his time in England.
Consistency has hampered him scoring even more times for the Gunners and the club now looks set to cash in.
Roma currently occupy fifth place in Serie A and are in the hunt for a Champions League spot.
Dzeko has found the net 10 times this season but, like Lacazette, will have just a year on his contract in the summer.
TBR View: Offloading Lacazette looks wise for Arsenal
Arteta has overseen plenty of changes already since taking charge but that looks set to continue in the summer.
Lacazette has played pretty well this season but they won’t want him to leave for free so cashing in looks wise.
It could see Arsenal enter the market for a striker though.
Pierre Emerick-Aubamyeang will remain in place but options would be in short supply if the £182,000-a-week ace leaves.
It would see Eddie Nketiah as the only backup option and he too has been linked with a move away.
Heading to Roma would see Lacazette link up with Henrikh Mkhitaryan once again and it’s definitely something Arsenal should look at.
