Roma are trying to sign Everton winger Bernard before the transfer window closes later this evening, according to La Roma 24.
The 28-year-old signed for the Toffees from Shakhtar in 2018 but this season has found first-team football hard to come by.
He has played twice in the Carabao Cup but has been an unused substitute in all four Premier League games during 2020/21.

With Everton adding James Rodriguez to their ranks this summer, Bernard is unlikely to feature much moving forward.
With that in mind, selling to Roma might prove to be a decent piece of business that suits all parties.
Bernard is the subject of a £7 million offer from the Serie A club who want to take the Brazilian on a permanent deal.
In two years at Goodison Park, Bernard has played 68 times, scoring six goals and registering seven assists in the famous blue jersey.
One positive of offloading Bernard would be getting his sizeable wages off the books.
He currently earns £120,000-a-week at Everton and his departure would certainly help balance the books after a summer spending spree.
Bernard can operate on the left flank or in a central attacking role.

He proved himself a hard worker during his time at Goodison Park but ultimately Everton now have better players in his position.
Roma have made an indifferent start to the 2020/21 Serie A campaign, winning one, losing one and drawing one of their first three games.
Bernard has a decent left foot, an eye for a pass and his energetic style of play could make him a hit in Italy.
Everton are keen to add a goalkeeper to their ranks before the deadline, whilst offers will be accepted for Mo Besic, Yannick Bolasie and Sandro Ramirez.
