Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac may have a decision to make on his next move, with Football Italia reporting that Roma is now interested in landing him.

The publication, which quotes a report from Sky Sport Deutschland, claims that the Serie A club has now entered the fray alongside Schalke in the race to land the Gunners defender.

Kolasinac has played his part under Mikel Arteta but has failed to really lock down a regular spot in the starting XI. Reports earlier in the week claimed the 27-year-old was on the verge of a move back to Germany with Schalke, with personal reasons being cited.

Roma, though, could well try and scupper Schalke’s chances as they put their name forward. The Italian giants are already making moves in the market and added Chelsea winger, Pedro, to the ranks just this week.

Kolasinac earns around £100k-a-week at Arsenal, according to Spotrac. Those wages being got rid of will boost Mikel Arteta’s hopes of strengthening the ranks before the season begins in a few weeks time.

Schalke will be confident but Roma are a good team – TBR View

Kolasinac knows Schalke well but Roma are a team who are looking well and the Arsenal man only needs to look at Chris Smalling last season to show how you can flourish with the Serie A giants.

Arsenal won’t be particularly bothered who their man signs for. At the end of the day, it’s about moving players on so the Gunners can strengthen further.

Certainly, getting £100k-a-week back in the coffers will do those plans no harm whatsoever.
