Everton are reportedly interested in Sergio Reguilon but face a battle to bring him to Goodison Park, if a new report if anything to go by.
According to Sky Sports, Everton’s Premier League rivals Chelsea have joined Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees in the race to sign the Real Madrid left-back.
Everton have reportedly made a move for Reguilon, but worryingly for the Merseyside outfit, Chelsea “are expected to trump Everton’s £18million bid in the coming days”.

Although Real are said to rate the 23-year-old highly, they are well-stocked in the left-back position and “drastically need to raise funds” – a reported 200million euros – to help balance the books.
Reguilon spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at La Liga side Sevilla, making 34 appearances in all competitions – including 31 in La Liga – and registering two goals and four assists.
His efforts over the course of the season – which helped Sevilla finish fourth in the table and qualify for the Champions League – saw him voted the best left-back in La Liga.
TBR View:
Reguilon has shown he’s a cut above in La Liga and was a worthy winner of the “left-back of the year” award.
A player who idolises Roberto Carlos and was asked whether he could be the new Marcelo (AS) after ousting him from the Real line-up last year, he now finds himself potentially on the lookout for a new club.
While Everton have a great setup and a great future with a world-class coach, Chelsea could prove tough opponents for Reguilon’s services this summer, and the Toffees would need to step up their game.
