Steven Gerrard may face an increasingly uphill battle to keep star striker Alfredo Morelos at Rangers this summer. The Ibrox goal machine has long been linked with a host of different clubs from across Europe and beyond.
Despite this, Rangers have so far managed to keep their kay player at Ibrox but they are now facing up to a battle with a French Ligue 1 side who appear determined to get their man.
There is one positive from the story. Rangers can reportedly stop worrying about two other teams who have been expressing an interest in the Colombian. Foot Mercato is reporting that Saint-Etienne and Marseille are no longer keen on the player as they cannot afford him.

However, Stade Rennais remain keen. The Ligue 1 side have given up in their pursuit of Sehrou Guirassy of Amiens.
The Rangers striker has immediately become their first-choice alternative. They are reportedly ‘seduced’ by the prospect of signing the player and would be willing to make an offer in the region of €15 million (£13.6m) to secure his services.
Rangers will no doubt be reluctant to sell their star striker and, if they do, will likely want a far more lucrative offer on the table to do so.
But it just highlights once again how much interest there is likely to be in the Rangers star over the summer.
