Leeds United’s impending new signing Rodrigo Moreno was offered to Real Madrid before agreeing on his move to Elland Road.
That is according to a report from Diario Madridista, who claim Valencia offered the Spaniard back to his boyhood club this summer as they look to overhaul their first-team squad.
The report claims that Madrid were offered the chance to sign Rodrigo back but Los Blancos reportedly considered the €30 million (£27m) asking price too high.

Leeds did not, and are now on the verge of signing the player. Previous reports had suggested that Rodrigo would be arriving at Leeds after the international break.
However, ABC reported yesterday that Rodrigo has now flown to England and will be presented as a Leeds player tomorrow. They even showed a video of Rodrigo accompanying Leeds director of football Victor Orta onto a plane bound for West Yorkshire.
Whilst Real Madrid were likely correct to consider that price-tag too high for a player who would not be guaranteed first-team football, Leeds can easily be justified in their decision to pay the same amount for a marquee addition.
Leeds fans will just be pleased that the Spanish giants did not decide to take a punt on their former Castilla star, who will hopefully shine at Elland Road.
