According to Spanish outlet Diario Madridista, Real Madrid have made contact with Arsenal over a move to sign Gunners skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – and are willing to offer a swap deal to land the Gabonese star.
Aubameyang, 30, has been in stunning form once again for Arsenal this season. Clocking up 32 appearances in all competitions, the former Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan star has netted 20 goals – and taken on the armband.
Reports this month have linked Premier League trio Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United with a move for Arsenal’s goal machine – while Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also suggested as options this summer.
The race is hotting up for Aubameyang, who is rated at £50million (Express). Now, Zinedine Zidane’s Real have entered the race and reports from Spain claim Madrid will offer Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos and cash to sign Aubameyang.
TBR’s view – Should Arsenal cash in on Aubameyang?
The chances of their skipper signing a new deal at The Emirates is unlikely, with Champions League football looking more and more like a dream – rather than a reality. With clubs in the Champions League eyeing Aubameyang, they need to cash in now.
If Arsenal do not sell him this summer, they will be forced to lose him for a cut-price fee next January or even on a free. So, selling Aubameyang and perhaps getting Ceballos on a permanent basis would be their best move.
