Liverpool could get a huge transfer boost as reports from Spanish outlet AS claim Real Madrid are now open to offers for star defender, Rafael Varane.
It comes in the wake of midweek reports that stated the Reds were keeping tabs on the Frenchman. Those reports claimed Madrid could demand around £43m for Varane, who is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract.
But rather than fight tooth and nail to keep the World Cup winning star, it seems Madrid are now open to selling the Frenchman.
And that is likely to put Liverpool and other European giants, including the likes of Manchester United, on red-alert. The Reds are desperate for a new top class centre-half, with Varane ticking a number of boxes.
Varane has made some 350 appearances for Real over in Spain, capturing the Champions League on four occasions and winning the World Cup with France along the way. It’s safe to say, then, that there are few questions over his quality.

This could spark an almighty scramble this summer if true and Liverpool has to position themselves at the front of the queue.
Varane is simply world class. A superstar within a team of other superstars, few defenders in world football are of the quality of the Frenchman.
Good with the ball, dominant in size, and deceptively quick, the thought of Varane and Van Dijk as a pairing really is quite something for Reds fans to think about.
