Real Madrid have scouted Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha extensively as he continues to impress out in Belgium, according to a report from Defensa Central.

Nmecha has only made a handful of first-team appearances for the Cityzens. But he has enjoyed a real breakout season this year.

He joined Anderlecht on loan in the summer. The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals in all competitions, including 13 times in the league.

Defensa Central notes that his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2022. And he is a player who is now being monitored by the scouts at the Bernabeu.

It is claimed that some at Real believe that he is soon going to explode, and they had him watched on international duty with Germany’s under-21s on Monday.

TBR View: Intriguing to see what the future holds for Nmecha

It is incredibly difficult to predict what Nmecha’s future looks like. His contract situation will surely force City into a decision this summer – whether that be to offer him fresh terms or to let him go.

Of course, there are doubts over the future of Sergio Aguero. So City may be wary of also selling Nmecha off the back of an impressive campaign.

But if Madrid come calling with a substantial offer, you could understand if City felt very tempted to let him move on.
