According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur will receive a late bid for Christian Eriksen. Real Madrid are planning a last-minute move for Eriksen, giving Daniel Levy a ‘take it or leave it’ ultimatum.
Real Madrid will offer £60m to Spurs for Eriksen. The Spanish heavyweights want the midfielder to become their next Luka Modric. And they will try to sign him before the European window slams shut.
Eriksen is in the final year of his contract at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Real Madrid hope to use that to their advantage. The Danish star has made it clear he wants a new challenge amid interest from Real Madrid.
The La Liga club have been hoping to add a midfielder with Eriksen and Paul Pogba topping their list. With Manchester United not keen on selling Pogba, Real Madrid will make a last-ditch attempt to nab Eriksen from Tottenham.
Tottenham will be hoping to keep Eriksen beyond the European window. Then, they will try to open contract negotiations with him. Mauricio Pochettino clearly rates Eriksen highly and still holds him as an integral member of the squad.
The 27-year-old has played in both of Spurs’ games this season. However, if there is no encouragement regarding a new deal for Eriksen, this might be the right time to cash in.
