Spurs and Arsenal could be set to lose out to Real Madrid in the race for Dayot Upamecano, according to a fresh report from the Mirror.
The 21-year-old is a man in demand heading into this summer. After impressing for RB Leipzig this season, the Frenchman has been heavily courted by some of England’s top clubs.

However, Premier League sides could be dealt a blow with Madrid now interested. It is claimed that Zinedine Zidane has made officials at the Bernabeu aware he wants to bring Upamecano to Madrid.
Upemacano is yet to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga club. And with a £50m release clause in his current deal, it appears a summer move could be on the cards.

The youngster is already a France under-21 international and is expected to have a bright future. However, it appears that the temptation of working for Zidane at Madrid could well hinder both Spurs and Arsenal.
Nothing you can do when Real Madrid come knocking – TBR View
This is the problem for most Premier League clubs when it comes to looking at the top talent.
As soon as the likes of Madrid and Barcelona start sniffing, it makes it increasingly difficult to land players.
Upamecano is a talented player who would suit both north London clubs. However, if Madrid and Zidane do up their interest, it would appear there’s nothing the pair can do.
Hopefully, for Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta at least, Upamecano fancies the Premier League.
