Report: Real Madrid ask to be kept informed as 'immense' player could leave Arsenal

Real Madrid want to keep tabs on the contract situation of Bukayo Saka at Arsenal going into the summer transfer window.

90Min say that Madrid have joined the team they beat in the final of this season’s Champions League, Liverpool, and Manchester City in the hunt for Saka.

The England star is entering the final 12 months of his contract but Arsenal have a one-year extension which they are going to trigger.

There is apparently no immediate concern over Saka’s future at Arsenal, but the wideman is similarly not in a hurry to pen a new deal.

Real Madrid want to keep tabs on Saka

The report reads: “Bukayo Saka is in no rush to extend his Arsenal contract, despite the Gunners being keen to open talks this summer.

Saka is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates but Arsenal have the option to extend that by a further year and have already told the player that they plan to trigger that clause.

Club officials are not immediately worried about his future.

Sources have confirmed that Real Madrid have asked to be kept informed of his situation.

Saka has been hailed as an ‘immense talent’ and he is central to everything Arsenal are trying to build under Mikel Arteta.

They have lost key players too often in recent years because they have been unable to convince them about the direction the club is going in.

They cannot allow Saka to go the same way, although the one-year clause does take some of the panic out of the situation.

Liverpool look like they will need to replace Sadio Mane and Mo Salah soon, potentially in consecutive summers, and City may refresh their attack if one or two existing players go.

Gareth Bale has departed Madrid as a hugely successful and decorated football, albeit one who is not truly loved in Spain. That is often the trade off with the move to the Bernabeu, although Saka is a long way off that yet, with Madrid monitoring things for the time being from the looks of it.
