Some at Real Madrid have been left annoyed by Martin Odegaard after he made a comment that hinted that the door may be open for the youngster to stay at Arsenal beyond his initial loan spell, according to a report from Defensa Central.
Odegaard has made a promising start to life at the Emirates. There have certainly been flashes of brilliance from the Norwegian.

Having kept Dani Ceballos for a second loan spell, some Arsenal fans may already be wondering if there could be scope for Odegaard to also extend his stay.
And Odegaard himself, recently suggested that he could be with the Gunners for longer.
When asked by TV2 at the weekend whether he could stay, the 22-year-old responded: “You never know what is going to happen, but for now I am just focusing on doing my best this season and helping the team as much as possible.”

It seems a reasonable response to what could be a difficult question. Odegaard may be wary of upsetting either set of fans at this stage. But it appears that his parent club did not take the comments well.
According to Defensa Central, Los Blancos were annoyed with his response. They have apparently advised Odegaard to avoid questions about his future and his relationship with Zinedine Zidane to ensure that speculation cannot start.
Madrid are reportedly confident that Odegaard’s long-term future lies at the Bernabeu. So they have apparently been left confused.
TBR View: Odegaard’s comments may be long forgotten by the summer anyway
Odegaard’s comments are unlikely to have an impact on Arsenal come the end of the season. If he impresses on the pitch, they may well ask a question of Madrid.
But it seems unlikely that they will still take encouragement from Odegaard’s response to the question about his future by the time the summer arrives.
They will have a very good idea by then whether the loanee wishes to stay for longer.
