Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo have claimed that Real Betis are interested in signing Arsenal loanee Mo Elneny, who is currently impressing with Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.
Elneny, 27, left Arsenal in the summer following the signing of Dani Ceballos. The Egyptian had already fallen down the pecking order behind Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi in the middle of the Arsenal midfield.
Following a tricky start which saw Elneny sent off on his Besiktas debut, he has since impressed for the Turkish giants and clocked up 12 outings. He has helped Besiktas produce five straight league wins, while also appearing in the Europa League.
Elneny has been linked with the likes of AC Milan and Sevilla ahead of the January window, though Elneny is contracted to a season-long loan at Besiktas. Now, Betis are said to be keen, with the La Liga side ‘much more in need’ of a midfielder.
The £7.4million (Guardian) signing has a contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2022.

TBR’s view – Elneny likely to leave Arsenal, but January or summer?
There is no question that Elneny has little future at Arsenal despite impressing on loan at Besiktas. Arsenal will surely be looking to offload the midfielder, who struggled to impress Gunners fans following his move from FC Basel.
The only decision Elneny and his represntatives have to consider is whether to stick it out at Besiktas beyond January, or look to make a change in the winter window and cut his Besiktas loan short. Given his form, he may be better to remain in Turkey.
