Arsenal have received a boost as they look to offload Hector Bellerin in the summer, with ABC reporting that Real Betis have told his agent that they want to keep the right-back beyond this season.

Bellerin has been able to get his career back on track after struggling with the Gunners. He has made 28 appearances in all competitions, including 20 in La Liga.

Arsenal meanwhile, have moved on extremely well. Takehiro Tomiyasu has proved to be a fantastic signing. And Cedric Soares has actually enjoyed a decent run in the side of late.

Bellerin leaving permanently this summer always looked like Arsenal’s preferred option. His contract at the Emirates expires at the end of next season. And it is hard to see the defender signing any fresh terms with the Gunners.

Obviously, Arsenal have not always found it easy to move players on. But it would seem that Betis are planning to offer Bellerin a home next season.

According to ABC, Betis have already told Bellerin’s agents that they want him to stay next season. It is noted that his contract situation represents the biggest hurdle for Los Verdiblancos.

Hector Bellerin sealing Real Betis move makes sense for all parties, including Arsenal

Obviously, Arsenal will want the best possible deal. And they are unlikely to reject better offers just so Bellerin can stay at Real Betis.

But it does seem that the 27-year-old has rediscovered his love for the game back in Spain. So reaching an agreement would surely be best for all parties.

He was a fantastic servant for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta labelled him an ‘exceptional player and incredible person‘.

But any boost he can provide to the Gunners’ transfer kitty will be very welcome. And if that comes from staying at Betis, that could be a deal that all sides can be happy with.
