Reported Liverpool target, Raphael Varane, will apparently seek a new challenge away from Real Madrid this summer, according to AS.
Varane, 27, will see his contract come to an end in 2022 and it has previously been reported that Liverpool hold an interest in landing him.
This latest claim from AS comes just weeks after they published a report stating Madrid could be tempted into selling Varane. That report claimed Los Blancos may be willing to accept around £43m for the big Frenchman.

Liverpool, of course, are on the hunt for defensive recruitments after seeing their season completely wrecked by injury this term. Jurgen Klopp brought in both Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in January, but neither are expected to be long-term solutions.
Varane, meanwhile, comes with a wealth of experience and quality. He’s won the Champions League four times with Madrid, while he also lifted the World Cup with France in 2018.
With player and club open to a deal, it could well spark a big auction this summer for one of Europe’s premier defenders.
TBR View: If Liverpool can sign Varane, they should be going all out to do so
How many times are you going to essentially get an invite to signing one of the world’s best defenders?
That’s what Liverpool are potentially facing here. And he’s going to cost around half of that they paid for Virgil van Dijk but with all the class and qualities to step right into the fold alongside the Dutchman.
Put simply, if there’s an inkling Liverpool can get this deal over the line, then the Reds have to make it happen.
