Rangers winger Jordan Jones is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after injuring himself in the Old Firm clash. Jones could be out for months following his meaty challenge on Moritz Bauer, according to The Scottish Sun.
Late in the game at Ibrox, Jones went sliding in with a hefty challenge on Celtic debutant Bauer. It earned the Northern Ireland international a straight red card from Bobby Madden.

And it looks like it has gone from bad to worse for Jones. The former Kilmarnock winger has had scans on a knee injury picked up during that tackle. It could be ligament damage for Jones, which would rule him out for a few months.
The 24-year-old is definitely ruled out of the Northern Ireland qualifying matches. Now, Rangers are waiting to hear the extent of his injury. The initial fears suggest it is a serious injury for Jones.
TBR’s view
Jones had only been on the pitch for less than half an hour when he received his straight red card. It was a needless challenge that demonstrated the frustration of losing in such a high-stakes game.
He now faces a major challenge to get back into the Rangers side. He was a substitute for the Old Firm game and would have lost some trust from Steven Gerrard for his unnecessary dismissal. With an injury now added to the mix, as well as the return of Ryan Kent, Jones has to turn things around when he returns.
