Rangers are reportedly hoping to sell their attacker Brandon Barker late in the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard will allow the sale of the speed machine this month and will also accept the exit of teammate Jordan Jones.
It is understood that Gerrard wants one new recruit in the final week of the transfer window, but may need to make room on the wage bill first.
The report details that Barker is currently a deal worth more than £10,000-a-week, which seems quite extortionate considering his lack of regular minutes in the side.
Barker only arrived at Ibrox in the summer on a permanent basis from Manchester City and he’s been unable to make the impact he would have wanted in Scottish football.
The 23-year-old is a left-winger that has plenty of pace and trickery, but he’s slipped right down the pecking order for the Gers and is on the fringes of the squad.
He’s played just 11 games across all competitions this season, with his only goal coming against Livingston back in September.
The diminutive wide player is a long way behind Rangers teammate Ryan Kent in the battle for the left-sided attacker and an exit may make sense for all parties.
