Rangers have reportedly identified a new striker target, as Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard continues to launch a recruitment drive in Glasgow.
Rangers have already lured Jon McLaughlin and Calvin Bassey to Ibrox this summer whilst Jermain Defoe and Ianis Hagi have made Gerrard happy by signing permanent deals in Glasgow after impressive loan stints.
The Rangers boss has admitted the club is in a position to bring new faces to Ibrox this summer and one man who could be on his way to the Scottish Premiership is Terem Moffi.
That is according to a report from Score Nigeria, who claim that Rangers have been in contact and were directed to his London-based agent regarding a potential deal.
It will not be an easy deal for Rangers to pull off. Moffi only joined his current club KV Kortrijk in January.
It came after some sensational goalscoring form with the Lithuanian side FK Riteriai. That form continued in Belgium. With four goals in nine games for the Belgian side, Moffi has scored an overall total of 24 goals in 40 games for both clubs in 2019-20.
Moffi is a friend of Nigeria international Alex Iwobi and has previously played football in England for the Buckswood Football Academy in East Sussex. The report claims he is currently valued in the €1.3 million (£1.1m) region but that the Belgian side are reluctant to sell.
Rangers have had great success in picking up an obscure goalscorer from lesser-known leagues in the past with Alfredo Morelos proving a dazzling acquisition.
Moffi has many similar traits to the current Ibrox hero. Strong, fast, and lethal in front of goal. The only difference is Moffi’s better temperament.
Gerrard and Rangers would undoubtedly be right to be keeping track of this Nigerian talent who has paved a way into the professional game the hard way.
