Rangers have offered a trial to the nephew of club legend Paul Gascoigne, according to a report by The Daily Record.
Cameron Gascoigne – who is currently a free agent – will be spending time on trial with Rangers. He will be hoping to earn himself a contract with the Scottish Premiership side to launch his career.

Gascoigne was most recently at Newcastle United, who signed him after spotting him for a local side. But he failed to make the grade at Newcastle and has since left the club.
Cameron has joined the Gers for a trial – shortly after his uncle returned for a visit. Paul Gascoigne visited his old club (where he won two league titles) and was warmly welcomed back.
His nephew will now get the chance to showcase his ability during his trial at Ibrox. But Rangers are not the only club keen on the younger Gascoigne. As per this report, there are also several clubs in England interested in signing the 18-year-old.
TBR’s view
Taking Cameron on trial bring an inevitable sense of sentimentality and nostalgia back to Ibrox. In the late 1990s, Gazza was a hero for Rangers. The club is now getting back to that feelgood factor with Steven Gerrard at the helm.
Whether Cameron Gascoigne is good enough for Rangers is another question. There appears to be a host of clubs chasing him so he has to have something about him. If he is good enough, he will need to show it on trial to earn a contract.
