The Daily Record have quoted Richard Gough as saying that Rangers star Alfredo Morelos impressed LA Galaxy director Jovan Kirovski during the Gers’ 5-0 rout of Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon.
Morelos, 23, has been in blistering form for Rangers this season, scoring 13 goals already in just 17 league and cup outings – one of those coming on Saturday as he headed home a cross from Borna Barisic.
The Colombia international has also calmed down from last season. Indeed, last season, Morelos picked up 16 yellow cards and was sent off five times. At this point last season, he had been yellow carded five times and sent off twice.
But he has only got three yellow cards in 17 games for Rangers this term, and ex-Gers skipper Gough believes that it has impressed Kirovski – who is also friends with Steven Gerrard after the Gers manager’s time with the MLS outfit.

“He played very well on Saturday. I sat next to my friend, Jovan Kirovski, who has come over to see a lot of things,” Gough said. “He was asking me about Morelos and I just told him he’s a pure goalscorer.
“He said to me, ‘Yeah but he looks a touch heavy, Richard’ but I told him to watch and he would score. Right enough a minute later he did. Jovan is Steven’s friend but the MLS has a lot of money and he’s just looking at a lot of things.”
TBR’s view – Will Morelos’ improved discipline see clubs come calling?
Morelos has been linked left, right and centre during his time at Rangers. Now in his third season at the club, the former HJK Helsinki star has scored 61 goals in 108 outings for the Light Blues – and laid on 23 assists.
Signed by Pedro Caixinha in the summer of 2017, Morelos has become a fan favourite. But he has also teased speculation, with reported interest coming from Germany, England, Turkey and France.
His previous issue was his lack of discipline. Now that is seemingly vanishing, Morelos could attract more interest.
