Rangers are closing in on agreeing a new contract with Nathan Patterson that is set to keep the youngster at Ibrox until 2022, according to a report from The Scottish Sun.
Patterson looks to be one of the brightest prospects coming through with the Gers right now. The 18-year-old has regularly been a standout performer for Graeme Murty’s men this season.
The Scottish Sun reports that he had been linked with Liverpool in the past. But it appears that the Light Blues are soon going to be able to make a significant announcement.
According to from The Scottish Sun, Patterson is close to signing a new deal with the Steven Gerrard’s men. The terms are set to run until 2022 with his current contract set to expire this coming summer.
Although Patterson is yet to make his first-team debut, it does appear to be an important piece of business for Rangers.
The Gers lost one of their brightest prospects in Billy Gilmour to Chelsea a couple of years ago. Meanwhile, the Daily Record recently reported that 15-year-old Leon King has rejected a new deal amid interest from the Premier League.
Patterson looks to have the potential to break into the first-team in the near future. So Rangers agreeing a new contract has the potential to be a masterstroke from the Gers.
