TeamTalk have claimed that Rangers are one of a number of clubs looking to sign Sheffield Wednesday flyer Morgan Fox this summer as his contract is due to expire in June – with West Brom and Premier League sides also keen.
Fox, 26, is one of a number of Football League players that is expected to see his contract expire in June and given the cvurrent global health crisis – the chances of having that deal renewed have reduced as clubs look to remain afloat.
Since joining Wednesday in 2017, Wales Under-21 cap Fox has clocked up 102 games for Wednesday – but has enjoyed his best form this season under Garry Monk. In 31 outings, he has scored three goals and helped his team keep nine clean sheets.
However, Rangers are not the only team interested in signing Fox. Burnley, Norwich, Bournemouth, West Brom and Middlesbrough are also interested – leaving Fox with a difficult decision to make in the coming months.
TBR’s view – Fox would be a decent addition at Ibrox
Especially following the departures of both Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan. It has left Steven Gerrard without a left-back replacement for Borna Barisic, and even the Croatian ace could be on his way out this summer.
Fox has not only shown quality from the left side of the defence, but also versatility in being able to player as a left-winger and even as a centre-back. On a free, then, he makes sense.
