Glasgow Rangers have offered young English striker Shane Temple a trial at Ibrox, according to The Scotsman.

The 18-year-old is currently on the books of English eighth-tier side AFC Sudbury Town, though his contract runs only until the end of the season.

Temple made his Sudbury debut as a 16-year-old in October 2019, several months after joining them from fellow English non-league side Braintree.

He was still just 17 when he scored all four goals in just his third start for the Yellows in a 4-2 FA Cup preliminary round win against Harborough Town in September 2020.

Temple is highly rated at the club, being voted their Young Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season after impressing for the club’s academy teams.

According to The Scotsman, the forward is expected to participate in an 11-a-side internal game at the Rangers Training Centre, with coaches continuing to cast an eye on him.

TBR View:

There are some real gems in non-league football, and Sudbury looks like a really talented prospect, so fair play to Rangers’ scouts for spotting him and bringing him over on trial.

Hopefully he impresses at Auchenhowie and can land himself the move of a lifetime to one of Britain’s biggest clubs.
