Rangers face another fight to keep hold of midfielder, Glen Kamara, with TeamTalk claiming that Benfica are the latest club to declare an interest in the Finland star.

Kamara, 25, has been an integral member of Steven Gerrard’s squad in recent times. A regular both in Europe and the league, Kamara has emerged as a key player for the Gers.

However, his form has generated interest before and it seems that Benfica are the latest club to take notice of the Finland ace.

TeamTalk now claims that the Portuguese giants want to land Kamara, with the likes of Sheffield United, Newcastle, and Crystal Palace all said to be keen from the Premier League.

Kamara has 27 caps for his country. He’s played every minute of the Europa League this term for the Gers, although he has been left out of league games in recent weeks by Gerrard.

The report claims the Rangers boss wants Kamara tied down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in 2023.

A huge player, Rangers should demand a big fee if they do sell – TBR View

Steven Gerrard is building something special with Rangers so there’s no point in them selling the Finland star on the cheap if they do opt to go down that route.

Of course, in an ideal world, Rangers keep hold of Kamara and continue to improve and progress under Gerrard.

But, should the Ibrox club decide to cash in, then they’re well within their rights to demand a hefty chunk of change for the midfielder.
