Reported Glasgow Rangers target Dennis Gyamfi is allegedly set to become a free agent – and the Ibrox side reportedly wouldn’t have to pay compensation.
The 18-year-old right-back, who the Daily Record has linked with Rangers as well as Arsenal, is currently at Leicester City but is only contracted to the Foxes until 30 June.
Gyamfi was among the players that Leicester confirmed had been offered a new deal when the retained list was announced last week.

However, the Leicester Mercury claims the club has now been informed that Gyamfi will not be putting pen to paper on a new contract.
The outlet claims the Foxes have been left shocked by the development, as they were keen to keep the Netherlands youth international.
Leicester promoted Gyamfi to first-team training following the league’s three-month hiatus after impressing for their Under-18s.
TBR View:
Given Rangers, Arsenal and many others are likely to be hit badly by the football shutdown caused by the global health crisis, a period of belt-tightening could be on the cards.
As a result, each club’s scouting departments could be looking at up-and-coming youngsters rather than big-money stars.
Gyamfi certainly seems to fall in this category, a teenage prodigy who Leicester fan site Foxes of Leicester has compared to Manchester United talent Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
“The Foxes academy graduate shows even more ferocity in the challenge than the Red Devil, already,” writes FOL. “Not to mention attacking down the line with skill, speed and crossing ability in a modern style.”
The Mercury says Leicester would be due a compensation fee if Gyamfi moved to another English side this summer but would not receive a fee if he moved to a club outside of England – something sure to be of particular interest for Rangers.
