Frank Lampard has rejected the chance to become Norwich City manager, potentially paving the way for Rangers to step up their own interest in the former Chelsea boss.
According to the Daily Mail, Lampard has take his name out of the hat at Carrow Road, leaving Dean Smith as the clear favourite to take the job that Daniel Farke has just left.
Rangers, meanwhile, are looking for a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
The Gers have been linked with a move for Lampard, with former Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp backing his nephew for the job at Ibrox.

It is believed that Rangers have narrowed their search down. Giovani van Bronckhorst is said to be on the list of potential Gerrard replacements. But with Lampard now on the market again, the Gers could well look to the former Derby boss.
Lampard has been without work since leaving Chelsea. He was overlooked for the England under-21s job, but is thought to be keen on returning to club management.
Of course, Lampard and Gerrard share a close relationship. They played multiple times together for England, and are both considered two of the Premier League’s finest midfielders.
TBR’s View: Lampard to Rangers? It doesn’t make much sense
It’s not that Frank Lampard couldn’t do the Rangers job. He’d probably give it a good crack and see if he could replicate Gerrard.
But there is huge pressure. Yes, he’s managed Chelsea and Derby already, but taking the job at Ibrox is a whole new ball game. Further, the narrative on Lampard and Gerrard from yesteryear would almost certainly play on his mind.
Norwich City seemed the ideal club for Lampard. But that ship seems to have sailed. Whether, then, Rangers decide to make their move, remains to be seen.
