Rangers have been dealt a blow in pursuit of an experienced centre-back. According to The Eastern Daily Press, Rangers-linked defender Timm Klose is set for a new deal at Norwich City.
Klose’s contract at Carrow Road was coming to an end. And consequently, Rangers were weighing up a bargain swoop for him this summer, as per The Sun via HITC Sport.
But it seems that Klose will remain with Norwich. After winning the Championship title and securing promotion back to the Premier League, he is ready to commit his future to the Canaries.
Klose has been with Norwich since January 2016, impressing in his nine Premier League appearances during their relegation season.

Injury curtailed his playing time that season but he has since racked up over 100 appearances for Norwich. This season, Klose has played 31 times in the Championship.
But the Switzerland international lost his starting spot due to the emergence of Ben Godfrey and the form of Christoph Zimmermann.
Nonetheless, Daniel Farke still has Klose in his plans. And the 6ft 4in centre-half is ready to sign a new contract ahead of their top-flight return.
Meanwhile, Rangers will be forced to look elsewhere. With Joe Worrall returning to Nottingham Forest after his loan and Gareth McAuley’s contract expiring, a new centre-back is needed.
Steven Gerrard will be weighing up his options but Klose appears to be out of reach now.
