Rangers are looking to battle some of Europe’s heavyweights for the signature of 16-year-old Charlie McNeil, with the Daily Mail reporting that the striker has held talks over a potential move to Ibrox in recent days.
The Mail reports that McNeil is edging closer to the Manchester City exit after failing to agree a new contract.

And it has been claimed that a host of sides, including Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Juventus, have shown an interest in the forward.
But Rangers appear to have thrown their hat into the ring. The Daily Mail reports that talks were held about a potential move for the teenager at the weekend.

The Mail adds that McNeil is keen to join a club where he can see a potential pathway to the first-team.
TBR View: Rangers can make huge statement and see off major competition
McNeil has reportedly scored around 600 goals in City’s youth ranks. It would therefore, be a huge statement for Steven Gerrard’s side to land the starlet this summer.
But given what his priority is, Rangers certainly appear to have a fantastic opportunity.
Both Manchester United and Leipzig have not been afraid to put faith in young players in recent years. But the path to the Rangers first-team could actually look the shortest.
Admittedly, Rangers now boast a fantastic amount of depth up front following a frantic Tuesday.
But McNeil would surely be forgiven for looking at the options in front of him and being optimistic that an Ibrox move could be the right one for his career.
