Rangers first teamer Alfredo Morelos is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League clubs.
According to the Scottish Sun, the centre-forward is wanted by both Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
It is understood that Palace are planning a £20million raid in the January transfer window for the Colombian and their Sporting Director watched him at the weekend in the 1-1 draw with Hearts.
The report explains that Villa representatives also watched on from the stands during the contest.
But it’s believed that Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is desperate to keep his striker at Ibrox for the rest of the season and will not welcome offers.
Morelos scored an equaliser from close-range against Hearts and has been in brilliant goalscoring form ever since his move to Scottish football.
He now has 15 goals in all competition so far this season in 20 games and definitely looks destined to play at a top level, as Gerrard even appears to have put a slight lid on his aggression.
Rangers are locked together at the top of the Scottish Premiership table right now, but their title bid would be been blown apart if they lost Morelos midway through the season.
The South American is the talisman for the Light Blues and they would find it impossible to replace his goals if he exited Ibrox.
Rangers will surely lose the 23-year-old at some point in the near future and it’s no surprise that a Premier League team are willing to take a chance on him, but they need to try keep him around for the rest of the campaign.
His performances in Scotland and also in European football should be a strong enough reason to ramp up the asking price way beyond the £20million mark that is mentioned.
