Rangers are one of the clubs keen on signing Taxiarchis Fountas this summer, according to a report from Austrian outlet Sport24, with Rapid Wien wanting £4.6 million for the striker.
The Gers now boast an impressive group of striking options. Steven Gerrard has, so far, been able to hold onto Alfredo Morelos. Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe has been joined by Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten in the ranks.

Nevertheless, it appears that Rangers want to strengthen their options further. According to Sport24, they have joined Atalanta and Stuttgart in tracking Fountas.
The report notes that the German side are currently leading the race having already entered talks with Rapid.

TBR View: Fountas could potentially prove an inspired target for Rangers
The Greece international enjoyed a stunning season in front of goal last term. He bagged 20 goals in all competitions, including 19 in the league.
He clearly has a lot of composure in front of goal. But he is also a player who works extremely hard for his side, dropping into good areas to create spaces for his teammates.
The 25-year-old also likes to drop deep to get involved in the play. This has proved particularly beneficial to Rapid who tended to play two up front last season.
He has the pace to cause defenders plenty of issues. And his intelligence off the ball makes it difficult to envisage Fountas staying where he is much longer.
And perhaps, it may be Ibrox that proves to be his next destination.
