Rangers are interested in signing Patrik Hrosovsky on loan this summer, according to a report from Czech outlet iSport.cz.

The 28-year-old could be on the way out of Genk this summer one year after his move to Belgium. He made 21 league appearances for the club and played five times in the Champions League.

However, he is yet to play this season. And it appears that he could soon be on the move.

iSport.cz has reported that Rangers are showing interest in the midfielder. However, it appears that agreeing terms may prove problematic for the Scottish Premiership side.

The report notes that Genk want £3.55 million for Hrosovsky. Meanwhile, Rangers are apparently interested in taking the Slovakia international on loan for a year with an option to buy.

iSport.cz adds that it is possible that Hrosovsky could stay with Genk. The club have made a poor start to the campaign, and his circumstances could yet change if there is a change in the dugout. It is not clear however, how likely a change of manager is.

TBR View: Rangers attempting to replicate Hagi move

Hrosovsky may not be a household name to the Ibrox faithful. But he is a player that one member of the Gers squad will know well.

Rangers signed Ianis Hagi from the same club in January. And after an inspired loan spell, the Light Blues made the youngster’s move permanent in the summer.

It would appear that Rangers are looking to do similar with Hrosovsky. But with Genk reportedly asking for a fee the Gers are not currently willing to pay, it would appear that there is plenty of work to do before he follows in Hagi’s footsteps.
