Rangers have made an enquiry to sign Hibernian striker Florian Kamberi on loan, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Light Blues could be forced to turn to the transfer market to land themselves a striker before tomorrow’s deadline.

It is thought that Kamberi’s name has popped up as a potential target.

Any loan deal could include an option to make the deal permanent during the summer.

The 24-year-old signed for Hibs on a permanent basis during the summer of 2018, following a successful loan spell.

During the 2019/20 campaign, he has scored eight goals and registered four assists for the Easter Road-based outfit.

In 84 appearances for Hibs, he has netted 30 goals and also picked up 13 assists along the way.

Kamberi played four times for the Switzerland under-21 team but has now declared himself eligible to represent Albania.

Hibs are sixth in the Scottish Premiership and they will surely hope to keep their striker as they look to push up the league table.

During his time playing at Hibs, he has netted twice against the Gers.

With the window due to close Gerrard will hope his Rangers squad is well-stocked to withstand the demands of the business end of the season.

TBR View – Kamberi would be ideal signing so late in the transfer window

It looks as though Rangers will keep hold of Alfredo Morelos and he will remain the club’s first-choice striker.

Kamberi could add some competition in the absence of Defoe, however.

He knows the Scottish Premiership and there would be no settling in period for the 24-year-old.

That could make him a useful addition so late in the day and he could make an immediate impact for Rangers.
