The Record have reported that Rangers could be delayed in their appointment of Giovanni van Bronckhorst – by a Chinese Super League side.
Van Bronckhorst, 46, is widely-expected to be named as the new Rangers manager in the coming days. Steven Gerrard joined Aston Villa last week.
But an appointment is yet to be made, with Sunday’s clash against Hibernian now just four days away. The Gers could be without a manager.
Ex-Rangers star van Bronckhorst – who won two league titles in three years at Ibrox – remains the favourite, but a Chinese club could delay his arrival.
That is because the Record reports he wants Chinese Super League side Guangzhou City’s manager Jean-Paul van Gastel on his team.
He worked alongside van Bronckhorst for his four years at Feyenoord, and then his 23 games as Guangzhou R&F gaffer. Now, he has his own job.
The report states that Rangers could be delayed in appointing van Bronckhorst, because Guangzhou City might not want to lose van Gastel.

Rangers delay: What can be done to get van Bronckhorst in quickly?
The report states that van Bronckhorst held talks with Rangers for a second time in The Netherlands on Tuesday – but an agreement is still yet to be met.
That is, after van Bronckhorst made clear his demands – including van Gastel. What can Rangers do? Well, they can pay over the odds.
They can convince Guangzhou financially, they can tell van Bronckhorst he will have to look elsewhere – or they will have to look for a new manager.
Whatever happens, it sounds incredibly complicated given van Gastel is in a job. Time will tell, in regards to whether Rangers can get a deal done.
