Rangers could be faced with losing influential skipper James Tavernier, with an exclusive report from 90Min.com claiming Brighton are keen on landing the Ibrox star.
Tavernier will be entering the final 12 months of his deal with the Scottish giants. Steven Gerrard will be desperate to keep hold of the 28-year-old but could face an uphill task in doing so.

That is because of Rangers’ financial situation. The report from 90Min claims the Gers may be forced into selling a number of top earners as they look to balance the books.
Tavernier, then, could be one of the players who is shipped out, especially if he doesn’t agree on a new deal.
Manager Gerrard is a big fan of the former Wigan Athletic player. Indeed, back in December, Gerrard singled Tavernier out for praise, speaking highly of the full-back’s ‘high standards and levels’ he sets on a daily basis. (Glasgow Times)

The former Liverpool skipper will be desperately hoping he can keep his captain. The report also states that Brighton will try to sign Tavernier’s brother, Marcus, from Middlesbrough at the same time.
A huge loss for Rangers, they must try to keep their man – TBR View
Tavernier is one of the most experienced and high-quality players in the Gers squad. Yes, he had the dip in form last year but as Gerrard pointed out, he came roaring back.
At 28, he’s in his prime years. With Celtic looking at ten in a row next season, Rangers will need all their best players.
The right-back is certainly one of them. If he does leave, Gerrard will be faced with a huge gap to fill.
