According to a report from Sport, Rangers star, Ianis Hagi, is wanted by VFL Bochum, who have joined Lazio and Sevilla in expressing their interest.

Hagi has been an integral part of the Rangers squad this season, despite not always being a starter. He’s hit seven goals and contributed 13 assists all comepetitions. Indeed, only James Tavernier has been involved in more goals.

But that form, plus Steven Gerrard’s decision to not always start Hagi, has got clubs on the continent looking at how they could sign Hagi.

The 22-year-old Romanian has been impressive ever since arriving at Ibrox. Among the Rangers squad, he is known for being a player who can unlock doors and create something from nothing. His versatility in attacking areas also makes him a valuable asset to the Gers.

Rangers are likely to demand a decent fee should any of the clubs mentioned make their move for Hagi. Further, he is also under contract until 2024, so there is no immediate panic on that front for Rangers.

TBR View: Hagi likely to stay, especially given Champions League football is on offer

It would be a surprise to see Hagi leave Rangers at the moment. Both in terms of him actually wanting to go, and in terms of Rangers accepting an offer.

They’re in a position now to demand big money for their best players, and rightly so. Surely, then, only a mammoth fee would tempt the club to even consider parting ways with Hagi.

After all, at 22, he is only going to get better and better and could be crucial in Europe next term.
