Rangers are reportedly interested in defender Daniel Opare from Belgian top-flight club Royal Antwerp.
According to the Scottish Sun, Steven Gerrard’s side are considering a £500,000 move for him.
It is understood that the 28-year-old is being considered as a potential replacement for James Tavernier if he exits Ibrox this summer, as Aston Villa and Brighton chase him.
The report details that Opare is already a man in demand this summer, with Rangers joined by Villa and Norwich City in the race for him.
It’s believed that Antwerp are keen to cash in on their defender, who is out of contract with them next summer.

TBR’s View:
Opare is an experienced defender renowned for his pace and power, which is why he’s had a decent spell in Belgian football.
A £500,000 swoop would be a bargain price for the Gers and he could be a shrewd addition for Gerrard if he pulls it off.
But losing Tavernier this summer would be a mammoth blow and whether Opare could fill his void is questionable.
Tavernier is the captain at Ibrox and he was directly involved in 37 goals in 57 games across all competitions this season.
The right-back is occasionally caught out defensively, but he offers so much going forward and does receive some over the top criticism.
A defender’s job should not be focused on going forward, but there are huge demands on full-backs nowadays and Opare would find it difficult stepping into Tavernier’s shoes.
