The Daily Record have claimed that Rangers are looking to raid Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City for a second time and sign 18-year-old right-back Dennis Gyamfi – but they must beat Arsenal and Manchester United to do so.
Rangers completed the pre-contract signing of 20-year-old Calvin Bassey earlier this month, with the 20-year-old joining on a four-year contract. Steven Gerrard beat numerous sides, including West Ham, to Bassey’s signature.
With cover for Borna Barisic brought to the club in the form of Bassey, Gerrard now wants to do the same on the right side of the defence in the form of Gyamfi. The Ghana-born teen is yet to play for Leicester’s senior side.
However, he is highly-rated and is out of contract this summer. It means foreign clubs can pick up him up for a nominal fee, something which Rangers are keen to do. Arsenal, Manchester United and Feyenoord are also keen.

TBR’s view – Gyamfi could be another potential gem
The signing of Bassey is an excellent bit of business, given that the left-footer was on the verge of breaking into the senior Leicester side and was training with Rodgers’ first team. Gyamfi is some way below that.
Still only 18, Gyamfi has only just broken into Leicester’s reserve side – but is showing plenty of quality and potential. For a nominal six-figure fee, signing Gyamfi is a no-brainer and it is clear that Gerrard is a fan.
The Gers boss tried to sign Gyamfi last summer, and now he is available for next to nothing, a deal should be made.
