Sheffield United keeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly considering handing in a transfer request to push through a move to Arsenal.
According to the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (p73: 15/08), the 23-year-old England talent is eager to return to the Premier League.
Arsenal have been chasing Ramsdale all window. However, reports last week were suggesting that a move was off.
As reported by the Athletic, Arsenal met with Sheffield United last week to discuss a potential transfer. However, the Gunners weren’t willing to meet the Blades’ valuation for the young British shot-stopper.

As per the report, Sheffield United’s owners wanted £35m for Ramsdale. Whilst Arsenal are looking for a young keeper, the fee was simply too much for the Gunners.
However, it appears that Ramsdale is now pushing for a move to the north London club. Although the keeper started this weekend’s Championship fixture against Swansea City, the youngster looks eager to make a move to the Premier League giants.

Indeed, with Arsenal now shifting their focus on signing Martin Odegaard according to reports, the goalkeeping situation seems to have taken a backseat for Mikel Arteta.
After all, the Gunners were humiliated on Friday night in the Premier League opener against newly-promoted side Brentford.
A lack of creativity is a glaring issue for Arsenal. And Arteta and Edu seem to be eager to fix this problem before looking for a new backup keeper.
