Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luke Amos is wanted at QPR permanently following a successful loan spell at the club.

The 23-year-old has played 34 times for the Championship side in 2019-20. He has proven a versatile member of Mark Warburton’s side, operating predominantly in defensive midfield whilst also playing at centre-back and full-back.

Now, according to West London Sport, QPR are hoping to bring him to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on a permanent basis.

It was reported by Football.London back in April that Jose Mourinho was keen to see what Amos might offer Tottenham in the future during pre-season. His versatility certainly makes him a player Mourinho would be right to check out.

So QPR might have to wait until the Portuguese has been given a chance to see what Amos offers before any permanent deal is done.

The talented midfielder was set for a role in the Tottenham first-team in 2018-19 under Mauricio Pochettino. After impressing in pre-season, Pochettino made it clear that Amos was in line for opportunities. “Maybe he’s going to play ahead of some senior players,” Pochettino was quoted as stating by ESPN. “I’m more than brave and if I believe in some players I go with all the consequences.”

Amos went on to make his Premier League debut in the opening game of the campaign against Newcastle United.

However, he suffered a serious knee injury a month later and missed the entire campaign, before joining QPR last summer.

So it will be interesting to see if Mourinho sees something in Amos, similarly to the way Pochettino did.

If not, then a permanent move to QPR might be on the cards.
