Queens Park Rangers are eyeing a move for free agent Heinz Lindner. According to The Daily Mail, Lindner will spend a week with QPR in an attempt to win a contract with the West Londoners.
Mark Warburton will run the rule over Lindner before deciding on this free transfer. The 29-year-old would be competing with Joe Lumley and Liam Kelly for the starting goalkeeper shirt.
Lindner has vast experience, having played over 300 senior games in his career. Most of those came at Austria Wien (202) while he also played three times for Eintracht Frankfurt and 75 times for Grasshoppers.

After spells in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Lindner’s next career step could be a move to England. The 22-cap Austria international will have a week in which to impress Warburton in QPR training.
The Hoops are on the fringes of the play-offs in the Championship. After seven games and four wins, QPR sit seventh but have conceded more goals (11) than any other team in the top half.
TBR’s view
Lindner’s experience will undoubtedly bolster QPR’s options but he is an unproven quantity in English football. Warburton’s first choice is Lumley but after his mistake last weekend, he might look at alternative options.
Kelly shone in Scotland for Livingston last season and Warburton knows him from their time at Rangers. But he is yet to make an impact, playing two cup games and conceding five goals. Lindner’s arrival could force him further down the pecking order.
