Newcastle United could be set for a transfer blow with a report from The Sun claiming that PSG is now eyeing a move for Bournemouth striker, Josh King.

It is claimed that the French giants may look to move for King and could be willing to pay around £25m for the forward, a move which would seemingly end Newcastle’s hopes of landing the Cherries ace.

PSG are said to be among a number of clubs in Europe who have an interest in the 28-year-old. The likes of Lazio and Roma are also credited, while Everton are among the PL sides with an interest.

King scored just six goals last season as Bournemouth were relegated to the Championship. With Eddie Howe now gone, a number of players are expected to leave, with King set to join the likes of Callum Wilson and David Brooks in securing moves back to the PL.

A report from The Times last week claimed Newcastle had an interest in both King and Brooks. However, the £20m asking price for King was apparently off-putting. News of PSG’s interest, then, could spell disaster for Steve Bruce’s hopes.

Goals don’t flow but King is obviously admired – TBR View

It’s a bit of an odd one with Josh King as it seems that, despite not banging in the goals, he has a host of clubs who is wanting to sign him.

He is obviously a full international and at 28, should be entering his prime. It made sense, then, to see Newcastle linked with the forward given their need for goals after Joelinton’s nightmare first season.

But if PSG is serious, then Newcastle won’t stand a chance. For one, they’ll pay the fee to Bournemouth and two, they’ll offer King wages that he probably never thought he’d get anywhere near.
