Tottenham may face a battle to sign Atalanta full-back, Timothy Castagne, with reports emerging to suggest that PSG are now in the hunt to land the 24-year-old.
Football Italia claims that the French champions have not thrown their name in the hat to land Castagne, who was instrumental in helping the Italian side to the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season.

Castagne, who can play either full-back position, has been targeted by Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho this summer. Indeed, just last week, HLN claimed Spurs were leading the race to sign the Belgian.
However, news of PSG’s interest could well scupper Mourinho’s plans. The French giants have huge resources and will no doubt look to tempt Castagne with huge wages if they do indeed pursue a deal.

Castagne made 33 appearances in all competitions last season. He provided three assists and scored twice while proving to be a versatile player for the Italian outfit.

Just when it looks like Spurs might have one in the bag, along comes PSG to try and ruin their hopes.
Although, in fairness, PSG get linked with lots of players. Especially at this time of year, so whether it rings true that they are looking into signing Castagne is another matter.
But Spurs would be gutted to lose out on this one you’d think. A quick, attacking, modern full-back, Castagne has all the tools to succeed at PL level. And he won’t cost the world either, with a fee of around £18m being touted.
