Arsenal could be set for a blow in the transfer market with L’Equipe claiming that PSG are to press ahead with their move for Lyon midfielder, Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Frenchman all summer and just last week appeared closer than ever to landing him after submitting an opening bid.

However, PSG are now also in the race and could well look to complete a deal before Arsenal even has the chance to get to the stage of advanced talks.
Aouar is highly-rated in Europe and has drawn attention following an excellent couple of seasons in Lyon. Pep Guardiola is also a known fan of the France international, who looks destined to leave Lyon before the window closes.

Arsenal have until Monday to try and tie up a deal for Aouar. The club are also keen on Thomas Partey at Atletico Madrid but, again, have yet to make a significant breakthrough.
Nightmare scenario, PSG could blow Arsenal out of the water – TBR View
If there was a club you didn’t want competing with you for a signing, then PSG would be up there as your worst nightmare.
Loaded with cash and the glamour club in France, for Aouar, this could be the golden chance he has been waiting for in his career.
Arsenal should have pressed ahead with this move a long time ago. It will be gut-wrenching for them if they do miss out on Aouar now, given the amount of time they’ve been interested.
