Diego Llorente is set to miss Leeds United’s next game after failing to return to the Whites squad on Sunday, according to a report from Leeds Live.
It has been a frustrating time for Llorente since his move to Elland Road. Whites fans have only seen the Spain international feature once following his £20 million switch (fee reported by the Daily Mail).

He has not been seen since his debut at Chelsea. But it appeared that the wait for a second appearance may have been over.
Marcelo Bielsa claimed in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash with Burnley that Llorente was back available (via club’s official website). Unfortunately, that proved to be something of a false dawn.

Llorente was nowhere to be seen when the teams were announced. And Bielsa suggested after the 1-0 win that the centre-back had suffered a setback.
“He had a setback on Wednesday and from there he hasn’t evolved,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live. “He stopped being an option for the game today.”
It remains to be seen how long Llorente is sidelined for. But Leeds Live does note that he is set to be unavailable for Tuesday’s clash with West Bromwich Albion.
Leeds coped well without Llorente against the Clarets. The back three of Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips and Pascal Struijk were outstanding amid all of the pressure they faced.
But with Liam Cooper, Robin Koch and Gaetano Berardi also sidelined, Leeds could certainly do with some positive news regarding their centre-back options.
