Aston Villa are looking set to face Newcastle United without Jack Grealish, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Villans talisman is a doubt for the clash.
Grealish has missed Villa’s last four games due to a shin problem. Dean Smith’s men did beat Leeds without him. However, they have lost two and failed to score twice in that run.

Unfortunately for Villa, it appears that he may not be ready for Friday.
According to the Daily Mirror, he has only been in light training this week. It is noted that he will be assessed on Thursday before a final decision is taken.

It would be a blow for Villa to take on the Magpies without Grealish. Steve Bruce’s men are enduring a torrid run, and the Villans will back themselves to add to their misery.
They are now 10 points off the top four – although they still boast two games in hand over Chelsea. But they will not want to lose more ground after threatening to achieve something special this season.
Having said that, Villa’s squad will surely have all the motivation they could need if Grealish is not ready.
There is no question that the Villans are a better side when their captain plays. He has scored six and provided 10 assists this season.
But they boast a lot of quality all over the pitch this year. And the players who are available will be desperate to prove that they do not necessarily need their leading man to put on a show.
